FOCHO celebrates its tenth anniversary in the spring of 2020. Since the launch in 2010 FOCHO has promoted a wide variety of events featuring the magnificent organ in the Caird Hall, it has provided financial support for work on the organ and to assist Leisure & Culture Dundee in promoting the instrument and it has introduced the organ to more than 3,000 local schoolchildren. We look forward to building on this activity, which has only been possible with the generous support of our Friends membership and numerous local and national funders.
To celebrate the anniversary we have an exciting programme of events planned, starting with our gala tenth anniversary concert on the afternoon of Sunday 15 March, featuring the virtuoso Scott Brothers Duo. They’ll be playing a huge range of duets for organ and piano, featuring our magnificent organ and the hall’s new Steinway grand piano. Jonathan and Tom Scott are outstanding players and this is an event not to be missed!
Later in the year we have our third Come and Sing, directed by our Honorary President Gordon Stewart, on 26 September and our silent film night returns on 6 November, this year featuring Richard Hills on his third visit to Dundee.
Alongside these public concerts we have our usual selection of education work (Daniel Moult returns for two sessions in February) and special events for our members. If you’re not a member, and would like to find out more about these, you can join online.
